Though I haven't really read the book, I did get to read a sample chapter (Chapter 1) that I could access using publisher's site. Though there were a few typos in the book (considering that it was beta access), it made for a very interesting read.
Ayende uses the Boo programming language for this book. (Boo is an object-oriented, statically-typed language for the DotNet platform, or the CLR, the term for DotNet that the author is wont to use.) One thing to note is that the book is *not* about learning Boo, and the author does emphasize this in the sample chapter. Secondly, it is also not for novice programmers; rather it is for experienced developers who would like to create a Domain Specific Language (DSL) for business users, users who need to have a business language with very intuitive-looking syntax that helps them get their tasks done. The author also stresses that knowing the business domain and its associated terminology always helps. Ayende demonstrates a solid understanding of DSLs and his experience in the industry shows. I hope to read the book once an Indian edition comes out.
Bottom line: reading the first chapter got me interested enough to look around for tutorials on the Boo programming language. Though time is always in short supply and I rarely read anything outside of work-related stuff, I do feel that I want to start learning about DSLs, and Boo specifically.
All in all, extrapolating from the little that I have read, it looks to be a very promising book.
